I've been wanting this dress for a while and it's been sold out in my size for a long time. I asked for a notification when it was back in stock and I never got one. Luckily, I saw it was back in stock, and not only that, but there was one left. Thankfully, my dad got me a giftcard and I was able to get my dress and a little bit extra as well. it's the best feeling when you're able to get exactly what you want.

sometimes I don't feel like taking the time out of my life to put on makeup. Especially during the week when my classes start at 830 in the morning. sooo, I've found that a quick fix is a little luminizer. My favorite is Smashbox's artificial light. I buy the one with a little bit of a pink tint so it also adds a little color. Just put it over your cheekbones, under your eyebrows, eyelids, and down the bridge of your nose and voilaaa! your skin is nice and glowy and you dont need anything else.

This weekend was so nice. For starters, I quit my job this past week so I have been re-cooperating from stress and actually doing things that I want to do. Friday was so nice since I didn't have class and I spent the whole day with my boyfriend. We just spent the day outside and he took me to dinner later where I got a well-deserved portion of sweet potato fries. Saturday I spent the morning at the gym and then spent some time with one of my best friends and her boyfriend that were in town. And, obviously, I am staying up late which has become so foreign this semester.

Got sushi and green tea ice cream tonight at Seito with my boyfriend. One of the sweaterdresses I purchased online. I decided to get something less slouchy and more figure-loving since my body easily gets overwhelmed by lots of fabric. Tonight was chilly! This past weekend I caught a cold. So, naturally i bought lots of vitamins and tissues. however, because of eating lots of vitamin c filled (and consequently acid filled) fruits, and blowing my nose every other minute, my lips are WRECKED. dry, chappy, sore. I went out to whole foods and bought sanre's "chocolate lips" lip balm. It's only been an hour since i packed it on and my lips already feel and look a lot better. I also saw their chocolate face mask and picked that up as well (con-it's 2 oz)

As I've been finding better nail polishes, (that don't chip in one day) I've been more open to non-conventional ideas. I love the idea of matte polish, I have a matte aqua color, but the matte black looks like velvet. Definitely going to try this. love the idea of the french manicure without the prissiness/prom-ness that the original has become.

so, I realize I post a bunch about shoes. but, honestly I can't help it. Shoes are so architectural. A lot goes into making a beautiful thing that supports all of your body weight. Especially I you are walking around with an added 5 inches. Just got these over at ASOS. Original pricing is both over a hundred, but they are mine for mere dinner money now. $32 and $27, respectively. both Leather. The ankle boots look like they have a pony hair effect as well (as long as the leather is real, that's all that really matters). Also got a pair of high-wasted black trousers and a romper. Seriously, go shop the sale. The only downside is they ship from England, so it takes a little longer. However, standard shipping is free :)

The one I'm looking at is called "Veil" and it is scented with sandalwood, lilac, gardenia, lavendar and ylang ylang. (*not the one pictured, obviously).

My good friend, Sam's new puppies. He had a cute little elegant puppy shower for them this past saturday. I love how naughty, blake, the boy looks and how sweet lily, the girl looks.

when I grow up..

I've never really seen my "dream" wedding dress before. I've always just had an idea of what I like, but never have I seen a perfect embodiment of what I like. Too bad it's Givenchy and probably more money than I'll see in a year. Maybe by the time I get married there will be tastefully done "tribute" dresses by other lovely designers that I don't have to be a millionaire's wife to have.

As far as makeup goes, there is nothing I love more than a good cat eye and red lips. It's usually the quintessential look I turn to day to day. Sometimes I'll do one without the other, but I like to think of it as my go-to look. I have very almond shaped eyes, so drawing out that little line in the corner really defines their shape and makes them appear a little larger. The reason I like red is because my lips are one of my favorite things about my face, so sometimes I just like to bring them out a little more. The cat eye and red lip together just seems so classy to me. Sometimes 50's or 60's starlet, sometimes geisha-esque, I just love the combination.
