These are the $114 dollar Jeffrey Campbell shoes I got for $77. I got them to replace my Dolce Vita flats which have gotten gross over the year I've had them (I found out that synthetic starts to smell after a while). So, I think it's worth it. Plus Campbell puts padding in his shoes so all of them, even the crazy heeled styles, are comfortable. I have my eye on another pair of JC shoes, but those are going to have to wait for a long while.
I decided to get the good stuff. You really can't skimp out on concealer and under-eye brightener I guess. Plus, M.A.C has the return 6 empty bottles (of anything) and get a free gift. With Benefit I can use my Sephora points to get stuff. So, it's really just a good deal. I love them. Well worth the price.
Although I love it, it's not my favorite. Stars always seem to pick a theme for every album and I think that might have been hard to achieve with this one. Every theme always center around romanticism and is always a little bit dark. I just think there is a limit on how many diverse songs you can write about ghosts, death, etc. The songs are lovely, I just feel myself getting a little lost and not blown away by every song. Almost like they were running out of things to do. The last album's theme was about love and war (love is a war?) so there was a myriad of things to write about there. Overall, a good buy. Especially if you're a Stars fan.
2. Karen Elson -The Ghost Who Walks
I didn't even know this was Jack White's wife until a read up about her. Yes, she is lovely, but she is also talented. Southern style music has a way of calming me down and helping me just enjoy the moment I'm in. The twangy music is lightly offset by the melancholy and sometimes morbid lyrics. Thus, you get something not too light and not too heavy. The perfect mix.
I love having cool friends. This is Jose Burgos' blog entirely about "gank". It's silly and fabulous at the same time. Visit the blog, all will be explained.
I like watching fireflies flash me their SOS signals. Tonight the small patch of trees across from my house was glittering from the leaves to the soil. Some fireflies actually managed to come into my yard. You see a light in one spot, then a second later you see the light in another spot. It's almost like they're teleporting from one spot to the other. There is a fairly busy road through the trees and on the other side of my neighborhood's fence. The volume of trees is sparse enough that you can see the headlights of cars go by. Sometimes I wonder if the fireflies see the headlights and try to get to them. If I was a firefly I would probably think that the headlights were a giant and wondrous representation of my species. I imagine it's a little confusing. It's moments like this that I thank God for the surprise gift. A moment that in all honesty, I cannot truly explain the beauty and serenity of. I simply take it in and enjoy it. I always love surprise gifts.
